Revenue Cycle Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Revenue Cycle Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support our organization's revenue cycle operations by assisting with billing processes, claim submissions, payment posting, and account reconciliation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This position is based in Iowa City, IA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides advanced billing and revenue cycle support, resolving complex claims, denials, and payer issues.
- Monitors accounts receivable to ensure timely follow-up and prevent revenue loss.
- Oversees delinquent accounts, collections activity, and insurance recoupments in compliance with policy and regulations.
- Conducts quality reviews and identifies front-end or process issues impacting billing and reimbursement.
- Supports reporting, payer access, and remittance workflows to maintain efficient revenue cycle operations.
- Collaborates with leadership and billing staff to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Schedule:
- Type: Full-time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in accounting required.
- 3-5 years of experience in medical billing is required.
- Medical billing certification is preferred.
- Experience in project management is preferred.
